    I figure we all meet on Wow constantly, and vaguely know each other through some tenuous link through someone else (usually Sara) but wouldn't it be nice to have a real life meet up sometime? I know most of the guild is in Lancaster so maybe a nice meal somewhere and a few drinks afterwards? Any ideas, suggestions? I'm probably not available next weekend but anytime after that should be shiny!

      Hah, hope you enjoy Cartmel, the principle is in my office, so don't do naughty things or I'll find out ;). She's lovely really... and no she wouldn't say anything.

      There are four people in our office who are senior Cartmel members, excluding Jayne. I'm a member of Bowland. I would have thought you'll be busy during freshers week anyway. Plenty for you to do.

        I'm a Pendler. yeah you won't want to be meeting us during freshers week, will completey skew your view of the uni, hehe. Plus you'll want to get settled first as opposed to diving in at the deep end :p - If you even have a second to even think about wow during freshers week you'll be wasting the best binge fest of your life :D

        Now now Andy, don't promote alcohol to much, we might get into trouble from Warwick uni or something like Radio 1 are!

        Never mind the piss ups, there's so much for you to do course wise, and then looking and getting involved with all the societies and other fun things that can fill your student days, rather then work.

        I can say though, once you've validated onto ResNet WoW will work ;).

        erm. I did very little course wise in Freshers week. Literally was get up, go sign some paper at 10am, go back to bed to sleep off the hangover, start drinking again at 5.. God those were the days

      Wheeeeee meet up. We could just do a meal in Wetherspoons or something, nice and cheap and simple. Then we can move onto $REAL_ALE_PUB afterwards :-D

      Unfortunately it costs quite a bit to get me up to Lancaster (about £60, and there's no discount for advance booking seemingly), and it's a 3 hour trip either way. Still, a friend of mine is starting at Lancaster next month (he's just been told he'll be in Bowland, poor sod), so I'll undoubtedly be up at some point. I miss the place ever so much.

      Might have to do it on an F1 weekend or something, seems we have quite a few fans.

        Sounds cool, we usually end up at our house with people around the TV. Food, laptops, coffe/tea, chat. It's fun.

        Pfft Bowland isn't that bad! At least it wont be once they've refurbed their residences. Bowland Tower is due next summer, they've already been stripping it out.

          Yes, I'm sure that'll make up for being dragged out of bed at 3am and being forced to walk down, and then up 20 flights of stairs during fire drills. :P

          What's Grizedale looking like these days? I've not had chance to see what's happened to the site of my beloved Cellblock E.

        You only have to do the stairs one way! They turn the lift back on when the fire is "gone" :-)

      There's talk of some friends and I having a meetup in Lancaster over the weekend of the 31st October, which conveniently coincides with the Brazilian grand prix. What are people doing then?

        Well, probably nothing apart from watching the GP ;-)
        Our living room is kinda only big enough for about 5 people total though, if one person doesn't mind sitting on the floor / bean bag.

        We could arrange to meet up somewhere during the weekend aside from the GP though! Sounds quite fun :-)

      This sounds a good idea to me and i am in Lancaster all the time anyway apart from the odd weekend usually also will be around for at least the next year so meeting at some point sounds good. As for pub suggestions i say the john o'gaunt or the waterwicth seem good choices.

        We went on an off the cuff meetup on Saturday, but you weren't on WoW at the time so we couldn't invite you. I definately think a nice 'good pub' bar crawl around Lancaster one day sounds like a decent one.
